“RADIO SALAAM NAMASTE“ (RSN for short) is a commercial community radio station that celebrates local diversity and is committed to bringing the best in entertainment and information. RSN provides broadcasts and creates other forums to serve the community by the exposure and sharing of these values. Our goal is to bring the highest quality of Indian/Pakistani and other sub-continental music and information to the DFW Metroplex air waves and to the rest of the ‘desi’ community through the world wide web.

RADIO SALAAM NAMASTE is developed and operated by Everest Heights. Our first broadcast was successfully aired on 1st March 2006.

Currently RSN broadcasts programs in 4 languages but many more are in production to be aired in the very near future.

We aim to present not only ‘Desi’ ideas, concepts and ideals to our listeners through a variety of entertainment and informational programs, but are also always seeking to improve links with other communities within Dallas Metrolplex to reflect the cultural diversity of the area.

The name Desi, is derived from the word Des meaning a specific Space or Homeland, which for us is the entire Indian Sub-continent. Our object is to analyze our practices and heritage and so ensure a better understanding of the ‘desi’ culture and traditions.
